Ganado High School

Social-Emotional Learning

Our Social Worker

Hello Students and Families of Ganado High School,

My name is Elizabeth Etsitty, and I am a new member of the Hornet family. I am the Ganado High School social worker. My role as a social worker for the high school is to provide support to students and families.

I can provide families of our students services such as parenting information, talking with parents about the stressors of distance learning, referrals to outside services, and more. I can also talk with students about their stressors and feelings they may be having due to distance learning like anxiety, depression, etc.

During this uncertain time, I am here to support Ganado High School students by partnering with parents to promote social and emotional learning focusing on self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and self-regulation skills.

By having students home with their parents, grandparents, and guardians, there is an opportunity to see what they do for schoolwork and an opportunity to see how prepared they are for life beyond high school. This allows parents and guardians to support and practice some of these home lessons to ensure youth are able to connect with others, address their feelings, and ensure they are ready for life beyond their graduation date.

Thank you, and I look forward to working with our students.
