Our School

Ganado High School immerses students in traditional Navajo culture while providing a quality education to students who will be part of the 21st century workforce. We provide a safe and supportive learning environment to our 500 ninth through twelfth graders. We welcome parents to our campus because we know that involved parents are part of the recipe for student success.

Extracurricular clubs, Career and Technical Education, and an award-winning athletics program are just a few of the many reasons why Ganado High School is so great. Our students continue to make strides in their mathematics and reading assessments, and we have numerous programs in place to help students meet and exceed standards.

Mission Statement

The mission of Ganado High School, in partnership with the community, is to prepare self-directed learners, responsible citizens, and complex thinkers through challenging, integrative, and relevant learning experiences that will promote success in the global community while retaining an identity with the Native American culture.

Bell Schedule

Student attendance and student achievement go hand in hand. Students with good attendance do well in school. We know that you cannot schedule some doctor appointments outside of school time, requiring the student to miss school or to check out during school hours. If you need to check out your student, you can only do so during passing time or during lunch so that your student will not miss any important class discussions, assignments, projects, or assessments. Also, if you need to visit your child during school hours, we will honor those during passing time as well. We do not mean to cause any inconvenience, but your child’s education is very important to us. Please plan accordingly. The principal or assistant principal must approve student checkouts during instructional time. Thank you for your assistance and understanding with our checkout procedures.

Library

Our library is a great place to research, do homework, read, or check out a new book. It is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Students have access to books, newspapers, magazines, video and visual aids, and computer services that include access to the Internet. The library sponsors the Reading is Fundamental program and the Accelerated Reading Program. We also have tutoring available, by appointment.
