Career & Technical Education
Career and Technical Education allows students the opportunity to begin working toward college or their future careers while earning high school credits. They receive real-life, hands-on training in their chosen field and spend time shadowing professionals in the workforce. It’s a great opportunity to build a college resume or get started on a career early by earning certifications. Students who participate in CTE programs graduate with valuable experience under their belts.
Welcome
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Greetings,
I hope you all enjoyed spending time with your children during the summer break. As we prepare to begin the 2026–2027 school year at Ganado High School, I would like to welcome back all the continuing and new Career and Technical Education (CTE) students.
Ganado High School has the following CTE programs:
- AgriScience
- Architectural Drafting*
- Construction
- Culinary Arts*
- Computer Graphics*
- Home Health Aide
- and Welding*
(*Dual enrollment)
All new incoming freshmen will choose to enroll in Career Exploration class or AgriScience 1. If the student is set to pursue and/or has interest in AgriScience, they will start this course sequence their freshman year. Otherwise, they will be enrolled in Career Exploration (a year-long class) where they will explore various careers and decide which CTE path they will choose in their sophomore year.
CTE students are taught technical standards and professional standards; in addition, they are required to have labs (hands-on), Work-Based Learning and Career and be involved in a Technical Student Organization (CTSO) such as SkillsUSA, FCCLA, HOSA, and FFA.
While students are enrolled in these CTE programs, they participate in competitions, leadership camps, and many other activities at the local, regional, state, and even the national levels. This is an opportunity to travel, meet new people, and improve their leadership skills.
On behalf of all the CTE teachers and staff, we appreciate your child’s enrollment and participation in GHS CTE this school year 2026–2027. We are looking forward to working with our students and parents.
Please contact your child’s CTE teacher if you have any further questions about CTE at Ganado High School.
Sincerely,
Ms. Kirk
